Sunscreen Update Natl Park Service

Here is a good article about the effect of sunscreen on our coral. The study was done in the Virgin Islands. There is currently discussion about passing legislation to ban the sale of harmful sunscreens containing oxybenzone in the territory.

The article indicates that the spray on type is particularly harmful to the ocean.

That is bad news. The one sun screen that our dermatologist recommended has that terrible chemical in it. Our sunscreen is Blue Lizard. :(
