Water Quality Testing Results

Post by iheartsj »

Westin visitors take note. Great Cruz Bay has once again failed water quality testing.

Well, the resort is built on the former dump site. This beach is a;ways the first to fail .

No, not sure where you got that info, it's not the former dump-- that was across from Starfish market where the sewerage treatment plant is now. The Great Cruz Bay problem is mainly the live -aboard boats.

The Great Cruz Bay problem is that it is at the bottom of a watershed that begins at the Susannaberg Dump. All along that watershed are goat yards, pigs, cattle, and old septic systems. There are some live aboards that dump illegally also.

Regardless the source of the pollution, it is not a safe place to swim especially if you have a cut or sore.
