Susan, thanks for the great trip report...... made for a really enjoyable read on a Saturday morning over a cup of coffee in chilly NJ. Nice call out for Long Valley (we live there)..... yes, what a small world that Rich previously owned the Chesapeake Bay Seafood Co.
Thank you so much for yet another trip report.
They're always so well written! Simple, to the point, honest, and with great photos! My 2 favorites were the one of you by the Jost sign,(adorable-) and the tree/beach line of Caneel with the clouds. It might sound strange, but I,for one, enjoy taking those "puddle jumpers" from SJU. Feels like a real adventure!
Thank you so much for sharing your memories. My heart fills with that same "walk of woe" sadness on the last day, and I felt the same feeling as I got to the end of your report.

Thanks for the trip report and great photos! We live in Somerset County in NJ and we are heading down in 3 weeks so the restaurant reviews were especially helpful.
Thank-You for your wonderful trip report and your photos are amazing!!! We arrived on the 5th as you were leaving! It seams that no matter how many visits to St. John we make there is always something new to see and beaches that we have not snorkeled at! I felt that I was on your trip with you as you wrote your trip report so well! I loved that you took pictures of the beaches and that they were so beautiful. Also your food porn was great! It all looked so good! Happy that you shared!

I somehow missed this the first time around. I am glad it got bumped up for me to read on this snowy day!
Your villa looked really nice. I stayed over in that neighborhood too, but many years ago. At first I thought on the same road, but I actually think maybe we were on the road below yours. I liked the peaceful quiet of the neighborhood and the lush valley views, but like you, got eaten alive by the mosquitoes and no see ums.
As always, thanks for sharing.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
