The island is looking pretty green

One of my favorite things about St. John (and there are so many) is the mountain like terrain coming right out of the beaches on most of the island, and the way the island is so green when the rainfall is above average. I'll be there for a week in April and August this year and I've been watching the personal weather stations on the Cruz Bay side a lot here lately before our next trip. It sure looks like this last 6-7 months have been some great months for rainfall. If anyone there can confirm, is it just me or are the webcam shots making it look like some of the most lush color I've seen on St. John in years? We are bringing 2 groups of first time visitors to St. John with us and am excited for them to see the island at it's best!

I always like the North Shore web cameras. It is very green. We were there in January for two weeks it was quite lush. Fortunately it only rained at night except for one day. We're heading back March 4 I'll try to remember to give you an update

thanks Steve! I like this one when it's working, shows a lot of terrain and it's a live cam: http://208.84.193.88:8888/view/viewer_i ... ml?id=1474

Yup, things are green! It's been looking good for awhile and hope it keeps up. Gotta keep water in those cisterns :) The animals are all looking health too. Just had three donkeys walk down our little estate road on Gifft Hill yesterday and they were all filled out and just really healthy looking. The road crews have been busily chopping the sides of the roads at a steady pace and still can't keep it back.

thanks for the update on it Julie! We love the donkeys so it's good to hear they are healthy and happy! On our next trip in about 6 weeks we are staying in a house in Virgin Grande estates that has a lot of trees and gardens so can't wait to see it in person!

I could kick a stone down the street to Virgin Grande Estates from my house. I've been seeing a lot of deer up here lately as well. And the iguanas look pretty darn healthy as well. I saw the biggest iguana at the Dumpster area a couple of weeks ago that was by far the largest I've ever seen. He was chasing a large iguana out of his territory and he was bobbing his head up and down letting us all know that this was his spot. Quite the sight!
