Exotic View Villa

Post by BreakawayBarb »

Has anyone stayed at this villa? We are deciding between it and Bongo Bongo. We have stayed at Bongo Bongo a couple of times, and love the expansive outdoor space, but are considering trying something new. Our concern is that the pool and deck are on the bottom floor, and everything else (LR/kitchen/BRs etc) are on the top. Seems like an awkward layout. Thanks in advance.

So, I gather not many--if any--of you have stayed at Exotic View. 8) No worries, I think we made the right choice: we just booked Bongo Bongo for 10 days in December. Traveling from Calif., we are doing something new this trip. Instead of flying all day and landing at 9pm ET in STT...we are taking the redeye through Miami, which gets us into STT at around 1:30pm ET. We'll spend the night at the Marriott, where we've always stayed on the first night, but now we'll actually get to enjoy the pools/beach and have dinner at Havana Blue, which we've always wanted to check out. Now the hard part begins. The wait. I thank you Forum-ites for giving me a STJ fix when I need one. - Barb

Barb,
Congrats on making your choice... Funny, how we often say that we want to try something "new" - but, often find our comfort zone and heart in the places where we have stayed before... We are returning for our third stay in the same villa. Like you, tried really hard this year to try something new - but, after days and days of spreadsheets and pros and cons, ended up where we always knew we would..LOL!
Hope your days will fly by as quickly as ours are... We are 31 days til we arrive on-island, again.. WooHoo!!

Hi, Sue,

Isn't the research a big part of the fun? I always feel compelled to see what else is out there. For me, checking out the other villas is a blast, as is the trip research, in general. (Confession: I just read several years of VIOL trip reports over the weekend to see what has changed, etc. since I've been there last!!! Yes, I am a freak.)

When I return from one trip, I immediately start planning the next trip somewhere.

I am jealous that you'll be on STJ in just a few, short weeks. Enjoy, and post a report!

Barb, I was reading your last post & thought, she's just like me! I do the same, have to plan as soon as I get home if I haven't already got a trip in the works. Feel the thrill of the planning, it's all part of the vacation fun. I follow the forum & FB to keep up with what's going on. I love the USVI's, my tough choice is which island to visit next 8)
Soarin' with the eagles all week long, and this is all that we've learned about living - VACATION!

Suziekue,

Thanks for chiming in. I have a feeling there are a lot of us on this board.

As to planning, I took a several-year break from STJ...checked out Kauai twice (LOVED it,), Maui, Tulum and Puerto Vallarta. It is very fun to research and explore new spots. That said, there is no place like our beloved STJ!! I will always return.

We travel from CA too for last 10 years of trips. Have done the day of travel and the redeye and the redeye has long been our preference. You really do get to do more. Hope you have a great trip!!!

Yes!!! Grabbed some great airfare $418 RT on Delta for August. Now just hunting for the perfect villa. So far it's me, husband, kids (7 & 5), and my mom. It's always super nice to have a trip planned.

Congrats, LAXCat! Enjoy the villa search. What's on your short list? My December trip is pretty much totally planned except for booking some excursions. We usually do a dinghy day and a BVI trip.

Nice job getting a good fare!

It's so frustrating for me as an Atlanta resident and Delta customer, though. Lowest fare for me originating in Atlanta in August is $556. And that would be for riding on the same plane as you from ATL to STT, but not taking up a seat on the ATL/LAX portion.
