It was $7.98 for a 6 pak yesterday at Pueblo STT - Heineken - there are some new 'sin' taxes going into effect May 1st - will report back after that. :D

Maybe local Caribbean beers will be a bit less?

You don't see many of the caribbean beers here - Presidente from DR is about the same $ as heineken - Carib from T&T and Jamaican Red Stripe are more $ - never see Haroun, Wadabli or other down island brews. We never even see the beers from next door Puerto Rico. i guess Corona could be considered Caribbean but more $ than Heineken there too.
The so-called virgin island brewing comp. makes their beer in Maine.

Or for the same price you can get a liter of Cruzan dark or light on sale at Starfish Market this week for $7.99! Enjoy!

American craftbrews are about $12/6-pack when you find them. We get Medalla Light in Culebra for $19.99 per case for 10oz cans, + 11.5% sales tax. With the new USVI sin tax I guess we'll need to declare that when sail the 14 miles from Culebra to St. Thomas.

Cheers, RickG

Does anybody know what percentage the tax will be on rum?

Also, will there be tax on alcoholic beverages at restaurants, or just stores?

Things have certainly gone a long way downhill from the days when anyone could buy a can of beer @$.50 from soda vending machines anytime, anywhere on STT.
