This was posted on the trip advisor forum. Follow the instructions below and you will be able to see pictures of the devastation.

Google has a disaster map for Irma here:

Zoom in on St. John. Drop down the layer menu (upper right corner). Select "civil air patrol". The dots represent aerial photos all around the island. They may still be adding more. The resolution is very good in most of them so you can zoom in on the pictures to see an individual house in many cases.

Yes, that's where I found them.

Some people that aren't too internet savvy may not understand how to do it which is why I posted the direct links

Thanks for posting. As I look at the pictures I am saddened for the devastation to peoples homes and livleyhood but the thing that amazes me is that all the leaves off of every tree and every bush are gone. So sad but I know St. John will come back.

I too am blown away from the lack of foliage. Watching video of real time footage of that storm ripping through there.....scary ordeal!

I am curious to here from residents that were there for the last big hurricane, how long does it really take for the landscape to really transform where you don't really see the impact from a major hurricane? I would imagine it would take a good 5 years?

Our hearts are breaking for all of those that live and visit the island. So when I found this video of St. John I wanted to share it. Daniel Smith created "A Love Letter to St. John". Just so you have a few more images of when the island was green.

The images and memories I have of STJ are burned into my heart. It's weird but I almost can't look at "before" pictures yet. I have this feeling as do some others I've heard say they feel like this is a spiritual and physical cleansing and STJ will be more beautiful than ever in the near future.
