Coming back May1st! Hopefully! Need a Jeep!

Postby fmzip » Wed Mar 03, 2021 3:47 pm

Hoping to be back in a few weeks. Haven't been to the island since 2016. We've always rented through Amalie on St Thomas. Tried calling and it goes straight to voicemail,"message box full". Are they still in business? Any other suggestion on St Thomas for a Jeep rental that allows trips to St John?

We rent from Amy for 2 weeks every year, including this past Dec. She is the best. Try calling both #'s (one is her cell that I also text her on, but she is in my contacts and I can't tell which one is her cell LOL). Sometimes they have phone & internet issues (island issue, not them specifically). You should also go on their website and fill out a reservation form. I do see where it says she is fully booked through April 9th so you might need to look elsewhere, but it doesn't hurt to try. Good luck!

I had filled out the form and then tried to call. Just texted on the first number which is an Iphone and shows delivered. Fingers crossed for a reply with "yes"!

We've only used Amalie, and years ago Avis. You are going to have a really tough time finding a vehicle if you haven't already and are going in a few weeks. I have read so many posts on TA with people having issues. I guess with COVID the USVIs have become much more attractive / easy to go to vs. other islands, plus it's high season. There are some good lists of places to try on the attached threads. Good luck!

L&L is good. $50 extra for weekly parking in their paid lot.

I used dependable several times and have been satisfied, I usually took the older beat up jeeps that cost less...
