LMG- Thanks for the trip report, very nice.

I think I'll skip telling my wife about your shark story, she would freak...and I want her to experience the awe of STJ underwater...uh, she also swims slower than me...just kidding.
Cheers

Excellent report. Great pictures.

OMG, a shark encounter.... I would have had a heart attack on the spot. Very brave, I would have swam for my life and probably drown trying to get away. I thought kicking made them attack even more. Very interesting story.

Sounds like you had a great trip and the "shark meet" made it very interesting. You are attracting all kinds of new friends lol.

Thanks for sharing :D

MB-- Thanks. :)

Barb- Thanks. You always sum it up so well.

Cap. Jack- Yes, that is me: Excitement Seeker. Ha. :) Thanks again!

Vicki- Maybe so. Believe me, I was not going toward that sucker.

Chicagoans- Thank you! I was disappointed with the pictures (under water and otherwise), but they seem to get the job done anyway. :) And you are a brave, brave person looking for sharks.

Cypressgirl- I know what you mean. I am pretty confident that what I was doing was the least pretty freak out ever. :)

KYgirl- Thank you! Like I said, they do get the job done as far as the memories go. :)

Sherban- No, don't tell her. And the statistics for this occurance are, apparently, according to a couple PM's I've recieved, "totally impossible" so I'm sure you'll be fine. :)

Iowa- It's a totally different "vacation" feeling, for sure. :)

Shoemak- You pay $2.50 for access to Vie's beach. Chairs are FCFS. :)

Grace- Kicking might not make them happy, but I'd like to see someone being charged not kick. ;)

Pianogirl- Don't worry, I've got the quota for the next 10 years, so we're all "safe" now. :)

As for all those that named that beach, I am being told that "kickoff is in 10 minutes" so I'll go for now but I'll be back later.

Thank you so much for your trip report and your pretty pictures, especially the picture from Gibney Beach, I think. I have never seen this beach, but still I cannot imagine that a beach can be prettier than Solomon, but perhaps. Seeing the picture from your sailing trip I’m glad that I wasn’t there. The sea seems sooo rough. I can nearly feel seasick just looking at the waves on the pic. What a shark experience you have had. The day we visited Waterlemon a group was leaving because they had seen a shark too. I was glad that I had ended my fight with the current at that time. But what a story you can tell other people now!!

Hey LMG -

Great report and we had a very nice time meeting you (and jessica) and spending time with you during your trip. We hope our paths will cross again in the future - keep in touch.

As far as your shark encounter - Oh My God! That is so freaky and obviously the PM'ers who think it is "totally impossible" are "totally wrong!". I am glad you came away with just a few gulps of sea water. Here is a photo of the shark I saw last January at Leinster/Waterlemon - the general opinion was that instead of a nurse shark, this was a Lemon shark - could it be the same one?

Thanks again for the report and good memories!

Nice report and pics. Interesting story about the nurse shark there usually very docile. I came face to face with a reef shark while snorkeling around the bend at Trunk heading towards Peterbay in about 3 feet of water. I was looking down and looked up and there he was scared the crap out of me. He just swam off while I cleaned my trunks out :D :D :D He actually was about ten feet away and about four or five feet long. I searched for him after I regained composure but he was never was seen again.

Hey Sister :)

Great report - my "babies" look so cute and quiet but we both know the real truth

Can't wait for the location of the beaches - I have no clue as to the location of beach #1

Again you can come visit anytime you want

Talk soon

Great report - thanks for sharing it.

As a future renter of Reef Madness, I'm excited to hear you gushing over it!

Glad you survived the shark. I'm one of those people that tell everyone that they should be thrilled, not scared, to see a shark inthe wild, but if acted in an aggressive manner, and you are by yourself, much easier said then done!
Come see us!

Liamsaunt- Thanks. One day, I hope to be around the same time as you. If not, I'm just going to come to your house and have dinner. (Not to sound odd, but I'm totally serious.) :)

Linne-
Thanks. Solomon is beautiful and you know, I didn't even get over there this time. Oh well, next time!

Tracy- OH MY. Well, I'd have to see it from the front, I guess. I don't think "my" shark was quiet that big. I guess it could have been a Lemon shark? I have learned a lot more about sharks than I ever wanted... and a lot of those littler ones are similar.

Cap. Kirk- Yes, I know I know. I guess the thing that stands out is I think he was just trying to get me to go away, not hurt me. If he'd wanted to take a bite, I guess he could have.

Pia- They are GREAT. Equally passionate about their down time AND their UP time. :)
Thanks, girl!

Augie- You're going to love it!
