Medicaid Benefits Question

Post by augie »

Hi,

If someone that currently livs in the continental US is receiving Medicaid benefits for a disabled child, do you know if the benefits would continue if they moved to the USVI?

In general, do you feel that the USVI is a practical place to live for someone that needs special care due to disabilities?

Sounds complicated. They might want to consult a USVI attorney who specializes in this area. Here in New York there are a number of attorneys who specialize in obtaining appropriate benefits for disabled children. It comes under Federal Law.

Medicaid is a federally funded program but it is administered at the state level. That means each state has their own rules. You should contact someone who is familiar with Medicaid law as it is administered in the USVI.
