What's your "new favorite thing"?

Post by mindehankins »

I've run across a few new things recently that have made my life simpler or nicer, and thought I'd post them in case they could do the same for someone else:

1. A bread keeper that keeps even fresh bakery bread fresh for soooooo long! Before, our bakery goods were only good the day we bought them. This thing isn't fancy or expensive, but it works: http://www.amazon.com/Progressive-Inter ... ead+keeper

2. A glass cleaner for problem/streaky glass. We have an old mirror in our house that I killed myself trying to clean, but was never successful until I found this cleaner (available in most stores): http://www.invisibleglass.com/

3. These brown rice tortillas are delicious and nutty, with a totally different texture than flour. I make an egg white/feta quesadilla every morning with these : http://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/store ... tId=695744

4. This travel jacket will be one of Blaine's Christmas gifts (the SeV Standard one). A light weight travel jacket with 20 pockets for gadgetry stowing. I hope it's one of his new favorite things! http://www.scottevest.com/v3_store/Stan ... cket.shtml

Hudson jeans. I don't love the price, but I love the fit (they run long) and how they look. I have a few pairs and my fave are the Beth Baby Boot Siouxsie. http://www.hudsonjeans.com/Beth_Baby_Bo ... /1792.html

Athleta (womens sports and active wear.) They have some really cute running tops, shorts, etc. Also cute sun dresses and skirts -- I'll be bringing some on my next trip to the islands.

(I'm not really a big shopper, so the fact that I listed just clothing is kind of weird for me.)

My new favorite thing is waiting for someone to show the final result of a wall removal and roof support system. I also hear there is a wonderful design for hiding the ceiling fan wiring but alas have been in total suspense for the past month

Pia you rock! I now have a new pair of Hudson jeans that cost a lot less than my other pair. (OK my 3 other pairs but let's not add that up.) Not only did I get new jeans, but I found my daughter a great pair of boots for a great price!

My DD is 6' tall with long, slender legs. (Sounds great until you try to find jeans with a 37" inseam and boots that don't wallow on the calves.) 6pm lets you pick boots by size, shaft height, and circumference. So we found boots that fit not just her feet but also her long, thin calves. She is SO excited... you wouldn't believe how many pairs we tried on at DSW and how many we've returned to Zappos. Not only that, but they were only $50 and everything shipped fast and free!

I have now shared the link with my friend with the same long thin legs. She's shopping away happily.

Thank you!
