Kauai and snorkeling/scuba

Post by sea-nile »

I am going to Kauai in May. I know it is not the same as STJ, but we love to snorkel and I just discovered I love scuba diving too. Does anyone have any expeience in Hawaii with either?
Thanks!

HI,

It's been awhile since we've been, but I remember good snorkeling around Poi'Pu beach, as well as a couple of locations toward the north side of the island near/around Princeville/Hanalei.

We also did a boat tour around the Na'Pali coast which also included a snorkel stop.

I imagine they are quite expensive now, but a helicopter tour is highly recommended.

I don't think Don did any dives on that trip(I wasn't certified yet), but I know he did a lot of diving around all the islands when he was stationed in Honolulu (pre-me).

Not sure if they're still around, but I remember a couple of good restaurants that we visited for breakfast/lunch. Eggberts (omelettes, eggs benedict, bloody mary's) which I think was in Lihue; and the Shell House in Hanalei.

Have a great time,
janet
