SO keeps it in the freezer and sips on it frequently. It taste like lemonheads if you ask me.

RickG - Kellyanna has plans for you to go to The Absinthe House and have Absinthe with her over Jazz Fest :)

Cat - I Love limoncello, isn't that the best stuff!!

Nothingtolose - Do they have real Absinthe now at the Absinthe House? I thought I watch an article on t.v. that absinthe was being brought back into the U.S.

Last night's cocktail was really nice...very light and refreshing. It kind of tasted like orangina soda

4 ounces freshly squeezed orange juice
4 ounces white lillet
2 ounces soda water

shake the juice and lillet in a cocktail strainer filled with ice and strain into an ice filled glass. top with the soda water.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Here's a fav of mine, especially around the holidays - chock full of antioxidants too :)

Pomegranate Martini:

2 cups pomegranate juice (I find it in the produce section)
3-4 oz. Absolute Citron vodka
2 oz. Cointreau liquor (Triplesec is okay too)
Squeeze of lemon or lime

Shake ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into martini glasses. garnish with lemon or lime twist.

My cousin sent me this recipe, but I haven't tried it yet. I think today is a good day to check it out!

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cocktail
(this should rev up your holidays!!)

jigger = 1 1/2 oz.
shot = 1 oz.

In a blender:

1 jigger cherry brandy
1 shot dark creme de cacao
2 jiggers cream or half & half
1 shot glass chocolate chips
3 - 4 marachino cherries
ice for blending

Blend until milkshake consistency. Do not strain. Candy in a glass!

KEY LIME MARTINI
(one drink)

1 oz Stoli Vanilla vodka
1 oz Dr. Vanillacuddy's (vanilla schnapps)
1/2 oz sour apple schnapps
1/2 oz key lime juice
1/2 oz pineapple juice
Crahan cracker crust rim
Garnish with a lime

I made these last night, but I didn't take a picture.
They are very good and taste just like key lime pie.

Lillet is a French apertif--I think it is wine...I did not taste it ouside the cocktail so can't say exactly what it tastes like. My liquor store had red lillet and white lillet. It was shelved with stuff like campari.

This past weekend at a bonfire party we served

Hot Apple Cider mixed with cinnamon schnapps and vanilla rum. It was the perfect fall drink and a huge hit! I'll be with a different crew at Thanksgiving so I think we'll have it again.

My made up version is coconut rum, dark rum, pineapple juice and orange juice and sprinkle with nutmeg. The exact amounts, I don't know because I just guess. :D
