Cane Garden Bay

Post by Chicken »

We are planning on spending a couple of nights at Cane Garden Bay. I'm leaning on staying at Myett's, but not married to the idea. Are there better places to stay for the same money? What else should I not miss? Thanks!

quite a few years ago we stayed at mongoose apartments. was really reasonable.
Clean, had a small kitchen just up a little lane from the beach. Easy walk. Sandra and her husband were awesome. They had Kayaks and beach chairs and floating lounges available for the guest of their apartments located at their cottage on the beach. it's on the west end of the beach. If it sounds interesting send me a pm and I'll put together a photo gallery for you to take a look at. :D

Thanks! I checked out their Website and it looks very cute. And about the same price as they don't charge the 10% room service fee. Did you enjoy Cane Garden Bay? I checked the cruise ship dates and there are none in port when we plan to stay. Thank goodness!

Yes, we enjoyed it very much. The apartments (6 unit total) were well maintained and Sandra has a office on the first floor, she was very accommodating, even setting up a rental car for us one day. It was our first USVI/BVI/Caribbean trip, Felt off the grid. stayed for 3 nights. Then hopped over to STJ. Was a nice intro to the islands, very laid back, just chilled at the beach all day, our first day there were 2 cruise ships in road town, the beach was crowded for a few hours, but interesting people watching as they were from europe little suits and big gold chains (and that was the men) then poof they were gone. It was super quiet, first part of november. Went up to brewers bay and then down to smugglers cove beach when we had the car. Ate dinner at the bananaquit cafe, great food, awesome views. Ask for a table at the railing. If you need AC in your room at night, it's a little more per night, we didn't, liked listening to the frogs at night.

Wow...seven weeks in the VIs!! Good on you.

Since a whole lot of Tortola shuts down in Sept-Oct, you may want to soften your expectations. Lots of restaurants will be closed BUT the beaches are open so if you focus on limin, you'll be fine.
