We will be on St. John in early December. We would like to take the Ferry to Jost for the day,and go to Foxy's, Ivans and the Soggy Dollar. Is this to busy? If not, what would be the best way to stop at all three?

We did that a couple years back, it was easy however we went during the morning and came home late afternoon. There was nobody around the beach was empty and Foxy's had maybe three people in it. If you go I would go later in the day and try to be there at night.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a neat place to be in the evening. I also think it would be fun to stay over night.

The Inter-Island ferry to JVD leaves at 8:30 and returns at 3:00 on Fri, Sat & Sun and 4:30 on Mon & Tues.

6 or 7 hours is certainly enough to check out Soggy Dollar, Ivans & Foxy's.

I would suggest that you grab a cab to White Bay as soon as you clear customs. Ask him to pick you up at Soggy Dollar at 2:00. I'd hang at Ivan's for a few hours then stroll down to the Soggy Dollar for lunch and some limin.

Head back to Great Harbor and get dropped at Foxy's where you can hang till its time to take the 10 min stroll down to the ferry dock.

Foxy's will likely be pretty slow but you can cross it off the Bucket List. If you can't be there at night or during an "event", its kinda ho-hum.

I highly recommend doing this day trip on Mon or Tues so that you get the xtra 90 min on-island AND you avoid the major day-tripper crowds at SDB.

If you can swing an overnight, expect White Bay to be dead after 8:00PM (not sure about Ivan's but its a very laid-back gang down there so inherently slow). Night-time belongs to Foxy's so plan on being there from dinner till ???

I agree with ClevelandDave. But Foxy usually is out and about around lunch time and is always good for tall tales and jokes.

Foxy's also has their Barbecue Buffet if you happen to be there on Friday Night. Each time I've been it has been packed out with people.
