I made cranberry cosmos night before last. YUM. Right now I'm having a splash in San Pellegrino while I get dinner on the table.

I had it at a Bobby Flay restaurant a few weeks ago. It was better there but mine was pretty darn good!

Kentucky 95 Cocktail
3/4 oz Makers Mark
3/4 oz Lemon Juice
half oz OJ
3/4 oz simple syrup

Shake and strain in wine glass, top with champagne

I've been drinking lately, so I wanted to report, although I got too schnookered to take any photos.

I made painkillers on New Year's Eve.

I made breakfast New Year's morning and used the extra champagne for mimosas.

However, the hit of the last few days were these double berry martinis I made with Polish vodka with dinner yesterday. The recipe is from the Kraft web site and it uses Crystal Light, but they are delicious and everyone loved them!

1 tub CRYSTAL LIGHT Raspberry Ice Flavor Drink Mix
2 cups water
2 cups light cranberry juice cocktail
1/2 cup vodka
2 cups club soda or sparkling water
6 frozen cranberries

EMPTY drink mix into large pitcher. Add water, juice cocktail and vodka; stir until mix is dissolved.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until chilled.

STIR in club soda just before serving. Pour over cranberries in martini glasses.

MB, those look "mighty tasty" as we say in KY. I was going to make those over the holiday, but got lazy and went the mimosa route. :D Hope you all had a good New Year's celebration! Cheers!

I had to go back to page two for this one!

Here are some cocktails that I made last night. These are amaretto margaritas. They are so bright because I used blood orange juice in them. In fact, I juiced a bunch of blood oranges last night to bring down for mixed drinks. I'm doing a blend of blood orange, lemon, lime, clemintine, and grapefruit, with vodka, I think, blended with lots of ice. So, if you see me on the beach with an icy yummy looking bright pink drink starting Friday, come by and ask for one! I'll have extra...and I'l share as long as you promise NOT to talk politics with me! Sheesh, people. :?

Amaretto margaritas:

bump!

Here are some cocktails I made last night to break in my new St. John martini glasses. I HAD to make this one, because it's called a viva villa! It has tequila, lime juice, lemon juice, and lemon sugar. I added a little peach syrup also:

This one is a pink rose...I think that's what it was called, anyway. It has vodka, grenadine, lemon juice, sugar...

Becky - The drinks look awesome! What drink did you end up making to take to the beach on your last trip?

page 3 - did we give up drinking for Lent?

I had a ruby grapefruit in the fridge that I kept telling myself would be breakfast. Well today it became cocktails instead! I juiced it and made a graprefruit Cosmo - replaced the cranberry juice with the grapefruit juice. It doesn't look like much but it was very good.

No picture but we had dinner at the Palm the other night and I tried one of their new signature drinks.

The Honeysuckle: (their description not mine but I agree wholeheartedly)

Sweet Nectar of the Gods, the Real Story of the Birds and the Bees ... Hendrick's Gin shaken with fresh lemon and grapefruit juice, a kiss of tonic and the sweet hint of honey, served lying over the rocks.

Refreshing and very light and deceptively tastes like there is little or no alcohol. Very delicious going down. Very painful the next morning. Consider yourself warned.
