Parasailing

Post by David- n Hampton, VA »

My daughter wants to go parasailing while we are down the first week of May. She is a thrill junky.....but has never parasailed. (Oh, we have ski dived together....in fact it was her 18th birthday present from me but never tethered to a boat!)

Any suggestions on who and where?

I haven't seen anything on the recent threads about this.....so any info will be helpful.

the Bongo/on-stjohn guys did a feature not long ago on parasailing, they went via the Westin--check out the On-stjohn web site and you can find their video there

ok, they did it thru cruz bay watersports and since i am SO nice, here is a link!

enjoy :D

I hate to bring up a negative, but my daughter's friend just shattered her knee and knocked out a tooth parasailing in Florida. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the paranoid type at all,... we took our kids parasailing in the Caymans last year and didn't think a thing about it, but I will look into it more next time. Make sure they are certified and have plenty of experience. I've heard that the companies at the nice resorts are fine, so you are probably good, but I couldn't help but mention it.

We went parasaling on our last trip that left off the Westin doc. The guys were great and I felt safe...

I went back in May of 2008. The guys at the Westin weren't operating the day I wanted to go. I got referred by our villa company (Carefree Getaways , they were awesome) to Caribbean Water Sports in St. Thomas. They picked us up at the National Park dock in St. John. It was certainly worth it. I had a blast, but I couldn't get my wife to go. The crew was great and very safe and entertaining. Even for passengers it was a beautiful speedboat ride. Here's a link...see I'm nice too! Lol!:

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the links (and picture....I didn't know there were tandem ones!)

I will try to get some pictures of us when we go and post them too!
