please help victims of tornados April 27th

Post by CBama »

Hello, been lurking for a long time. I have enjoyed all the advice, reports, and experiences conveyed on the forum. We visited St Thomas in 2004, and ventured over to St John on a sailboat/snorkel tour. After our initial glimpse of St John, we took the jeep over for a full day of beach hopping the next day which included Hawksnest, Trunk, Cinnamon and Maho. I truly loved St John and hope to make it back soon….(maybe next year)…

I have seen the concern and sharing alive and well on this forum, so the events of the past week have led me to come out of lurking and start posting.

I am from the State of Alabama and the destruction that has taken place in our state and surrounding states is unimaginable. The County I live in was very blessed since all the tornadic activity went above and below our County.

I know everyone has probably seen TV images of the destruction in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, but everyone may not be aware of the destruction of whole small rural towns. Some towns had not had contact with anyone with relief efforts until last weekend. The roads had not been cleared to allow access.

If anyone would like to help out, they can access several ways to assist by visiting this website...

for a glimpse of some of the destruction please watch these you tube videos…

not sure how to post pic...so trying for the first time..this just shows the affected counties in AL..there was also massive destruction in MS, GA, Tn and other states.

Thank you for any support that you can offer...

Thanks CBama and welcome to the forum. I have been trying to search out the best way to help and I will definitely look at your links.

Just saw on TV last night that people are concerned that the news of the devastation in your area will take a back seat to the Bin Laden news. I truly hope not - thanks for keeping us posted.
