Wildlife you have seen in your backyard
My car was running cruddy about a year ago so brought it to the shop.
The g-dmned chipmunks or squirrels were storing acorns in my engine. They had chewed a perfect circle through the air filter and were loading acorns everywhere.
Now I was driving this car everyday so i don't know when they did this but that kind of damage, it's not covered by warranty .

OMG, I can't wait to show that to my son. He is obsessed with mountain lions.
There is someone in Northcentral PA that is seeking information on mountain lion sightings. There are posters hanging at local retaurants with contact information and pictures of mountain lions. Our son is so desperate to see one so I can call this guy and report it.
Mountain lion conspiracy theory is huge in my area of PA.

This popped up on the Denver Post this morning:

I knew that pic was in CO when I saw it, but I didn't think it was Boulder. Although the mountain lion sightings have gone up a little around here in the past few weeks. I wonder how many of them have seen me but I haven't seen them while out hiking

Our daughter grew up in this woodsey area of SE Texas so she is used to animals being around at times. But 5 yrs ago her husband took a job up in the Dallas area where she's had 3 little children. They moved back 'home' over the weekend into an area that is woodsy and has a creek. Yesterday as she was making a cup of coffee she heard her almost 2 yr old daughter say,"Wook! A Puppy!" She turned and looking right in the glass at her was a large deer. She screamed and the deer ran! She said it was so cool.
We live in a group of small towns near her area and we have squirrels. And also possums regularly come around our house late at night as if it's some path they follow. On a visit to our vet, one of the tech's had a baby possum and mentioned to me that they rescue them, raise them and let them loose a few blocks from our house! Since they've had shots and caused us no harm I guess we'll live with them, and they with us But on a sleepless night, it's disconcerting to see beedy, glowing eyes coming down the 'trail', around the house and disappearing...
