Coral Bay Villa Help

Post by emptynester »

We just booked our February 2013 air with Delta miles and are starting the search for relatively inexpensive (less than $3,000) villas in the Coral Bay area preferably the East End.

We are traveling with two of our adult children who don't mind sharing a bedroom but not a bed so a 3 bedroom is ideal but a two bedroom with twin beds in one room is fine. We want AC in the bedrooms. Last time we stayed at Concordia in a premium tent (the cost more than made up for the lack of AC) which was great for three but for four will be too cramped. We love to be active and snorkel every day so remote is just fine.

The only villa I have found that ticks most of the boxes except the location is Bayhouse but I know there must be other choices out there!
Thanks Sharon

I have looked at this one in the past..Just over $3000 but may be negotiable? Worth a try..

Well I'll make a recommendation but it doesn't meet the seperate beds criteria for the kids.

Try checking out Fun and Contentment. We stayed there in Jan. 2011. It has everything else.

http://funandcontentment.com/index.shtml

The couch is big enough and comfortable enough for someone to sleep on if the shared bed is out of the question. The view, hot tub, pool, A/C and price may make it worth your while and the kids willing to compromise somewhat. Plus the drive up to the villa is great fun! It looks right down on Island Blues but is high enough up to have a great view.

You can book this through Caribbean Villas here:
http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/property/ ... ntentment/

but we booked it through Love City Villas

http://lovecityvillas.com/villas_fun_contentment.html

because at the time they did not charge a 5% service charge fee like Caribbean Villas does. Nancy and Ernie are great to work with and are so easy going.

Anyway, hope this helps and let me know if you want any other info. on this villa.

Into The Mystic is in the same part of the island, up the road behind Crabby's. We were there at the end of November, beginning of December. At that time of year the rate was $3,100 a week.

The living area and master have a/c, I'm not sure about the downstairs, because there were only two of us we only had use of the main floor. There is a queen bed and a sofa sleeper in the downstairs.

Good views, pool, hot tub, everything you could need and it's beautiful!

I know you're in the process of looking at lots of villas- but I just wanted to say that we stayed in Bay House in 2010 and really liked it a lot - if you do end up staying there, I'm sure you'll like it a lot too!

Have fun looking - I love that part!!!
Peace,

Lisa

Here are a few I have bookmarked, some maybe be above your price range but it can't hurt to outline your budget and let the rental agent come back to you with a lower price. Further, the first one listed comes with a free rental vehicle, something I have never seen on STJ.

We rented this house last month and absolutely loved it. I don't know what the four person rate would be (we had 3 couples plus little kiddo). The interior first floor bedroom was two twins.

We just got back from Villa Jumbie, one of PA Girl's links above. We loved it, more spacious then the photos display. I need to work on a trip report....

We've stayed in Casa Nita several times, though it is in Calabash Boom rather then the East End. Actually, it's exactly across the bay from East End. Anyway, the place is a little aged, but we love it for the location and the view. Easy road in, 3 bedrooms with a/c in the bedrooms. A bargain after April 15th.

We stayed at Rhumb Runners for our second trip. It's up the hill from Crabby's and has beautiful views of Coral Harbor like this:

Owners live on STT; wife works at Myra Keating. The kitchen has been updated since we stayed there.

2 BR each with attached bath on the 2nd floor (interior staircase), 2nd BR has 2 twins; 1/2 bath on first floor; paved road; pool off the first floor deck:

It has AC in the bedrooms but we were there in Dec/Jan and never needed it. It's available on VRBO. I'd stay there again.

Check out Island Breeze:

or Casa Nita:

Windspree has several 2BR villas within your budget as well. Good luck!

Thank you all for your help! I can't believe how many of you are willing to help others. I really think I have a some good choices now in case one of them is not available when we are ready to pay the deposit.

I am still looking for somewhere in the East End but haven't found the right number of beds and AC at the right price. Has anyone stayed at Pebble Cove? It looks so great online. I might be able to up the budget because of the lack of driving to the beaches (we would just have to cook in more often).
Again thanks for all your help,
Sharon

We enjoyed our stay at Pebble Cove in November. It was fun having a good reef at the bottom of the steps for a bit of mornings snorkeling. We had a morning goat rush hour and had to dodge deer on the way out to dinner.

Cheers, RickG
