Blizzard update !

Post by PaminMaine »

Hello from snow laden , wind driven Maine !!

Snow totals thus far : Portland 29 "
Gorham 32"
Wind up to 40-50 MPH
Snow drifts as high as 6 feet on some streets.
Looks like I am housebound for the day.....
Maybe I will start packing... 33 days !!!

Hope all the east coast forum memebers are safe at home!

About one foot of snow here in central New York along with 12 degree temps. I will be trading the white snow for white sand in less than a week! Can't wait to feel the sun on my face and the sand between my toes! :)

12 inches here too in the Adirondack Park area of NY State. Snowmobiling is great. The girl just wants to RIDE! Getting all of this snow play out of my system prior to our April trip to the Rock.

I can't tell how much we have here with the drifts. At least a couple of feet I'd say. Most of our town lost power but we didn't so far- knock on wood! It's supposed to die down here by 1pm or so but it's still blowing like a banshee out there.

Waves here 30-35 high- all shore roads closed. A house down the street got hit by a wave at high tide and collapsed. Everybody got out safe.

It is absolutely insane. Even the plows are getting stuck. I'm thinking of grabbing my fins, using the snow to make a Bushwacker and just making the best of it!

Under the tree- you can hardly see because of the wave but there is a house there. They aren't there in the winter thank goodness. Look at the two people standing so close. What could possibly go wrong?
