Best restaurants & a take-out deli in Coral Bay?

Post by snowrooster »

Hello . . .

We will be staying in Coral Bay in July - our last visit was 10 years ago. I've done my research and have a what I think is a pretty good list of dining options in Coral Bay, but I'd love to hear some more recent travelers' favorite places to eat in the Coral Bay area (prefer reasonably priced options).

I'd also like to find a deli where we can grab sandwiches to throw in a cooler to eat later in the day. Suggestions?

Thanks so much!!

I stopped at Island Blues back in January for a cold drink and a quick bite to eat. It was very good, very reasonable, and had a great view.

Another vote for Island Blues! Great setting, great staff, great food.
Of course Skinny Legs is a must, too!

They have been open this week. Haven't been but they are open.

Went by there 2 days after I posted that and they were open, so I don't know what was up with it on that other day.

Aqua Bistro is my favorite place to eat on the entire island. And I have never had a meal at Ekaete Pink Corner, but the homemade soursop ice cream there is amazing

Has anyone tried Reggie's BBQ at Cases by the Sea? If it's as good as Joe's or Candy's, we'll definitely be giving it a try on our next trip.

Two questions: Between cases by the sea and aqua bistro is a little place called oasis. Seems to be busy but I can not find any info on it. Anyone have any info?!
Also, Reggie's seems to be open infrequently? Any hours on that?
As always, I appreciate your help!!!!

PICKLES is the best place for sandwiches to go. Beverly is a wonderful cook and make " specials" everyday for lunch . She uses ingredients from Josephine's Organic Garden , also in Coral Bay.The local fisherman drop their " Catch Of The Day" off at PICKLES, too so you can get fresh fish . It is fun to sit in the big yard in the back under 100 year old trees & have lunch or an early dinner .
Beverly makes the best breakfast in Coral Bay . Try her waffles !
Her honey is from St. John bee hives & the salt from Salt Pond .
There is a reason we ' locals 'eat at Pickles *

i think reggie used to work at Joes a while back, no? but his stuff is great (my kids and husband swear by it) and he is simply the kindest, nicest person there is.

I have heard from others that Oasis has really excellent food-- we did not try it our last trip as we ate in most nights-- but the person who said this is a local chef-- so i would take that as high praise

Without a doubt you have to visit Reggie's BBQ (http://blog.greatexpectationsusvi.com/2 ... s-new.html) We have been loyal Uncle Joe's BBQ folks for well over a decade but, Reggie's is sure 'worth the drive' (even if you are staying in Cruz Bay!).

Yes, Reggie got his 'training' at Uncle Joe's BBQ. Call ahead to make sure he (Reggie) will be there. His phone number is 340 714-1020 (it is the islands so hours are of our own making!).
