Sailing school?

Post by northerngal »

I would love to surprise my hubby with a sailing school. He has sailed Hobies for years and loves to sail. Any suggestions for a school for a bigger boat? He would love to sail around the VI!!!!

I have heard a lot of great things about Fairwinds Sail School. You can go with him a just a passenger and not the school part too. RickG recently did a school. I don't remember the company, but you might hit him up on the details.

During the winter season the Maryland School has an Island Packet 440 based in STT and teaches ASA sailing courses on a weekly schedule - extremely well run and informative with professional instructors.
They also offer ocean courses in Nov - Norfolk -- STT and May STT-- Norfolk --------- and basic classes in the Chesapeake.
I have been on the boat often and it is beautiful and roomy.
It is advertised as a ' Serious school for serious sailors'
