Trip Report - St John with my boys - Part two

Saturday 08/10

BVI day!

We were at the NPS dock at 8:30 AM to meet Captain John / Palm Tree Charters

Our fist stop for the day was Lovango Cay. The current was pretty strong there, had to be constantly swimming to stay reasonably close to the boat.

After breezing through customs, our first stop was The Indians. It is so breathtakingly beautiful there. I could spend the whole day just drifting around. My boys said this was their favorite place to snorkel

Next stop, The Caves. This is my favorite place to snorkel. Perhaps because I overcame my fear of caves when I was there in April. I like to go all the way through the little one onto the tiny cobblestone beach alongside it.

I entered the water from that beach for the first time this trip. It was an easy entry and so pretty

The large cave was full of hundreds of these jellies. I think they're called spotted wing jellyfish? Anyway, they're pretty harmless, but there's something creepy about swimming through clouds of them

The boys enjoyed The Caves

After lunch at the Willy T Jake and I did the jump and met Roger and Captain John at the boat to head off to The Soggy Dollar. This was Jakes favorite stop.

Probably because of the scenery

After that, we asked Captain John to take us to one more snorkel around St John. He took us to the area along the Leinster path, sometimes reffered to as the drift. The snorkeling there was great, see me giant parrotfish video here:

And the photo, in case you don't feel like visiting the video

It was a lovely way to end our lovely day. We really enjoyed Captain John and Palm Tree Charters and would not hesitate to use him again.

Dinner was Zero Sushi back at the condo and an early night as we were all tired from the busy day.

Yay, great pictures! Love some time with the grown ankle biters.

Can't wait to have daily cocktails at Soggy Dollar, not long now. :D
