Tripadvisor and everytrail are the ones I used on island.

I usually want to avoid a lot of technology while vacationing in the islands...just me....

I'm an android guy so I use the St. John Off the Beaten Path app:

For apple, I've heard good things about The St. John App:

Thank you Eagle Ray.

I've been told that by next year many of the villa companies will have apps. replacing their in villa books of menus and things to do.

I've looked at the apps. and am not sure how it would benefit us to advert wi. them.

There is so much available on line.

Hi Sloop.

Cimmaron has already added you to their app. If you have anything specific you want put in, just send it to the office at the Lumberyard.

I have already tried two free apps for USVI/St John. One I have already deleted off of my iPad. The other seems worth keeping for a while. My Virgin Islands by CrucianPoint is the one I am keeping for now. It is a nice information center that gives websites, phone numbers and other information that may be useful. I am looking for an app that is useful without wi-fi connection. I will be using it on my iPad and will only have connectivity when wi-fi is available. I have been considering Gerald Singers app but I have to read more on it. What I have seen and read, many of the features require wi-fi. I guess what I am looking for is a mostly offline app that gives me information like what My Virgin gives but also has things like resturant menus, resturant hours, what days is Sloop Jones or Vies snack shack are closed/open, hiking trail descriptions, maps, things that I will need for deciding what we will do this week, today, when we leave the beach in an hour kind of stuff while we are on island. Most of it, I want to be able to turn on my iPad and look up without having to go back to the villa for a connection (which usually are not too reliable anyway).
I imagine I am going to d/l the Singer app just because I really like his guidebook and website I don't imagine I will be disappointed for my $1.99.

Some people use apps. some people the guidebook, some people the internet....remember when the telephone poles were thick with staples from advert flyers.

has anyone used this app?http://www.whatsupstjohn.com/
