Good March 2014 airfare on AA

We just snagged tickets for $473 for March 2014 out of DC after a price drop on American. That's over a $250 savings from what I've been tracking.

Argh.... I am totally bummed!!!

In July, I bought our tickets for next April. Got Delta going down for $224.20 per person and AA coming back for $249.20. For a total Per Person of $473.40.

Was feeling pretty good about myself til I saw this post and went out on the AA sight to find out that I "could" have gotten a Per Person price of $334.00 round trip. That "would" have been amazing!! Would have saved a total of $278.80.

Just checked with both Delta and AA and no way that I can cancel Delta's non-refundable tickets without being hit with a $200 per ticket change fee PLUS price of ticket would only be a credit toward future travel. Can't even change AA's down to the $170 one-way price that it now is without a huge change fee. Yuck.

Sometimes it does NOT start your day off great by checking to see "what's happening" on the forum... Oh, well!! Hopefully, Rick's post can help someone else!!! LOL

We had also expected airfares around $650-750 for our trip in late March but I got lucky and had a farewatcher from Detroit - STT starting March 30. Snagged airfare for us and our daughters for $484 RT. Didn't think twice and booked it. Haven't been back since last summer so we are very excited.

I think I can swim from shore to the mooring balls at Leinster with a case of beer - I guess we'll find out!

When are you moving down?

We plan on being moored on Leinster Bay by 4PM on 11/16. Are you up for cocktails and/or dinner on the boat? Of course, Neptune may decide we need to be elsewhere, but Leinster is sort of the end of the road as a jumping off point to the BVI.
