Interesting information on St. Thomas. Havanna Blue/Sandbar looks terrific. We have a couple of hundred thousand Marriott points to use and I often wondered about staying there on the front end of a STJ trip. (We are going to stay at the Ritz Carlton SJ this summer on the way to STJ).

My hubby wants to see pictures of your giant icicles.

I have named this one "Niagara Falls." The railing you can see in the picture is the top of my back deck, just to give you an idea of how much snow we have.

As always, a wonderful trip report and great pictures too. I enjoyed the 4 extra nights you were "forced" to spend on STT. I don't know that much about staying on STT so it's good to know what to expect we are ever "forced" to extend our stay and accommodations on STJ are not an option.

Hey Becky
Always the best with the trip reports :D Anyway if you ever have to stay on STT again try Molly Malones in Redhook for breakfast, I always try to hit that place on my way back from St. John going to airport (Yummy)

OMG! That is awful. Hate to say it but it looks like you have ice dams under those shingles. We had that back in the mid-90s at our former house.

Yes indeed. Everyone in my neighborhood has them. We are having someone come to clear off the roof and steam off all of the dams this afternoon. That ice dam is not leaking in the house or anything (we put 40 lbs. of calcium chloride up there to cut a channel through) but we are scheduled for four more inches of snow this evening followed by freezing rain so we can't take the chance of even more weight on the roof. As you can see our snow rake can't get close to the top. This has been the all time worst winter ever.

Becky this winter the South Shore seems to have gotten the brunt of the snow. I have not had to rake the snow off my roof as the wind blew the majority of it off during the blizzard's. I currently only have about 3 inches of snow on my south facing roof and my icicles about the 10th of the thickness of yours. The good news is my unofficial snow gauge shows we have lost about 6 inches of snow to evaporation in the last week so there is hope. Your comment about the Marriott and everybody being dressed up got me to howling as you so right. That is one of the things I love about St. John is more casual about everybody dressing up for dinner.

Much thanks for time and effort to share. Great job as usual. You look well and your photography just gets better and better. Your reports should come with a disclaimer at top: DO NOT VIEW WHEN HUNGRY :D

Nope! I don't eat red meat. I like other "bad" foods just like everyone else though. Bread, pasta, butter, bacon, pizza, hahaha
