East End SUP

Post by hoosierdaddy »

We will be renting Inflatable SUP boards and we want to explore the East End with them. Being inflatable you can hike in very easily with them. I was wondering which bays may be best. I was considering Brown Bay, Hurricane Hole and Hansen.

Oh I just checked out a spot that would be perfect for this last week. If you are heading East right before you get to Estate Zootenvill there is a parking area for 1 or 2 cars and a trail that leads out to the side of that bay. There are some Kayaks down there chained to a tree. It looks like the perfect place to put in and probably a great area to explore.

I just checked the map and that is part of Hurricane Hole. Thanks for the recommendation. Have you been out in the bay there?

Its going to depend on weather and wind direction. Augie/Steve took a group snorkeling at Haulover North and it was great. But, for most of January that would have been very rough. In general, if the wind is east or north of east you're going to do better on the Coral Bay side. If the wind is south of east then the north side may be calm enough. However, Hansen Bay is almost alway good and there is parking there.
