Best Lunch in Coral Bay?

Post by hoosierdaddy »

We will be on island for the 6th time in March. We will be staying in Cruz Bay but plan on spending several days on the East side of the island so we will need to eat lunch there. For you Coral Bay fans could you give me your top three lunch spots?

We always enjoy Miss Lucy's after a morning at either Salt Pond or the Lameshur's. Tables right by the water with fantastic views, and the grouper reuben is amazing! Also, sit at the octagonal bar at Aqua Bistro for a nice lunch. Also enjoy pretty good burgers at Skinny Legs..... works well - wife shops while I enjoy a cold one waiting for our lunch to arrive. We also usually go to Shipwreck Landing, but that has become hit or miss for us on our last couple of visits. Of course we really miss Tourist Trap. Lastly, we tried to go to Indigo Grill for lunch a year ago, but they don't open until 2:00pm so that didn't work out for us. Enjoy!

East to west your options are, Skinny Leg's, Indigo Grill (now open for lunch), Pickles, Triple B (for breakfast and brunch Fridays - Tuesdays in the Oasis building), Aqua Bistro, Skipper's Brit Pub (formerly Sweet Plantains), Shipwreck Landing, Miss Lucy's, and Concordia Cafe.

Not sure about some of the food stands that may be hit or miss.

Our favorite lunch spots in Coral Bay are (probably in this order) :

Miss Lucy's - My husband loves their Grouper Reuben and I always order Callaloo soup with crabmeat.

In our opinion, Miss Lucy's location is the best of all in Coral Bay...

We haven't tried lunch at Indigo Grill and have heard great things about Triple B.

Pickles has great deli food. We pick up sandwiches there and take it to the beach.

Thanks for all of the replys. I will talk with my girls and see what they think. We should be on the east side 3-4 times during the week so we should get to stop by several restaurants.

Pickle - Thanks for the pictures. They make me want to be there right now.

We were there in December and ate most lunches at Skinny Legs, even though we were staying in Cruz Bay. Skinny's is my happy place. Burgers and Mahi sandwiches are the best, along with their Drink of the day. It feels like home to me.

Shipwreck Landing has the best food in Coral Bay, and on all of St. John in my opinion. Their soups and conch fritters are the best I've had in the USVI's and BVI's combined :P

I agree with Lil Cheese...But in defense of those other eateries, she hasn't been to some of them yet...she's only 17 and has only been to STJ and the BVI's about 20 times so far.

Thanks Big and Little Cheeses. We will definitely be eating at Shipwrecks. We have been to St. John only 5 times and Shipwrecks is the only place we have eaten at each time. Love the atmosphere and the conch fritters. I think we will try Miss Lucy's and Oasis. Maybe Aqua Bistro also depending on how many times we get to Coral Bay.
