Day Sails in Operation this Summer?

Post by sherban »

Hello Forumites, We're headed back in June, and I'm excited to go back to STJ!

We're looking forward to bringing some tourist $ to STJ and enjoying ourselves, we hope to do a little volunteering while there too..

We're considering a day sail, does anyone know of any Sailboat excursions in operation for this summer, unfortunately alot are out of commission and the last one I used is not operating yet.

I prefer single hull boats over cats...Thanks for any feedback!
Cheers- Sherb

Cimarron was operating when we were there at the beginning of March. But, it looks like they take the boat north for the summer.

Captain Phil on Wayward Sailor would be a great option. We have gone out with him several times in the past. His website says he is up and sailing.

I believe Kiote is running charters out of Coral Bay.

That's good to hear. I saw he ran some locals boat days. There is a photo from March 14 that shows his boat in good shape. I was happy to see that!

I can't seem to recall the name of the place, but in Coral Bay there was a place that you could rent kayak's. Does anyone know if this place is open or is planning to be open by this summer?

If you're thinking about Crabby's I'd be surprised if they will be back in business by summer (but I don't know that for a fact - will have a better idea in a couple of weeks).

I believe there is a very strong chance that you could rent a kayak (or SUP) from Reef2Peak. They are also based in Coral Bay. (617) 378-5745
