Jorge, you are right. There are a couple of things that are just not worth talking about in online discussion forums. It is too easy to copy and paste other people's rhetoric. That's not helpful to anyone. To me, facial expressions and nuance of vocal tone are essential in the following discussions:
1. politics
2. religion
3. sex
And probably many other topics I have not thought of at this moment. Anyway, I won't be discussing any of the three above topics here, or anywhere else on the internet for that matter. Those conversations are better enjoyed (or battled) face to face.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I'd rather be in the boat with a drink on the rocks than in the drink with a boat on the rocks

Oh, unions are a good one to add to that list. I'm in a fantasy football league (you can read that as me being a loser, shut-in) that has a message board. A debate broke out about unions that went on for a large part of the season. It wasn't pleasant. Let's stay away from that one, too.BOATSRUS wrote:Years ago, in my former life, when I was a "Jumpseat Psychiatrist",....I made a vow not unlike liamsaunt, No discussions on

"defend labor laws"
That's a touchy subject. I represent management in labor and employment matters. Yes, Soxfan, I represent business. I'm not a teacher, I'm an attorney (let the jokes begin) I sit across the bargaining table from the unions during negotiations. I defend the companies when they are sued for discrimination.
In any event, I know the union subject is a friction point for many, so I, for one, am not going to go there. Not here.
