How do I convert a picture of mine into an avatar that will have the correct pixels and size and stuff....love computers!

If you have Photoshop, when you save your picture after you make it 50 x 50, watch the slide bar and it will show you below how many kb it is. With Photoshop, always go for less than the 6kb allowed because it will actually save slightly bigger.
