My absolute favorite thing inside St John Spice is the SMELL. As soon as you walk in the door, the smell is AMAZING. If Ruth could bottle it, and let me carry around with me, it would bring me perpetual happiness!

Other than that, and of course, the ever popular Cruz Bay Grill Rub; I also love Montauk's Hot Sauce. 8)

WOW!!! What a hard question. I agree with sun4mysoul.....the smell is amazing.
I love the rubs and the hot sauces and the coffees.
I would ask Ruth to put a gift basket together with her top picks. She could put coffee and a mug and some spices and some coconut patties and such
Ruth is amazing.

1. Ruth. (Though technically she's not a thing)

2. Cruz Bay Grill Rub

3. The wonderful teas. I try to pick a different one each time.

There are so many, it's hard to pick!!! Cruz Bay Grill Rub is the best. It is very versatile. I have used it on everything from meats to garlic bread (thanks Mary Beth for that one). The hot sauces are awesome. We love Scorned Woman. The sampler packet of spices is also nice. You really can't go wrong with anything from their store. I just have to try to control myself in the store and stick to what I need.
Going "home" again October 26th!

My favorite thing from STJ Spice is my celery green hooded sweatshirt- v-neck w/o strings on the hood and St. John est.1917 on front. It is so well made and I get so many compliments on it!

The grill rub.

Does she have a bedtime that helps you sleep? I have found one here, but it is hard to find and maybe hers is better.

I agree, kiss of the jumbie coffee! Makes me feel like I am in the islands! Also, we love the glass bottle of vanilla with the bean in it. YUM

Can't pick just one, but here is a small list:

Trinidad Charlie's original hot sauce. I like the others too, especially the West Indian Sizzle, but the original is so adaptable to any style of recipe. I put it in everything that needs a subtle heat. I brought some to my office, and now all my coworkers swear by it too.

Vitamin B bug patches!

Sunny Caribbee Super Spice

Cruz Bay Grill Rub

Sunny Caribbee Fish Spice

Those cool painted wine glasses. I use different ones depending on my mood. If I am drinking out of the one with the crab on it, John knows to look out!

The cool selection of books about local cuisine and wildlife.

I don't drink coffee, but I love the way the Kiss of the Jumbie smells when it's brewing.

It's just a great store, with terrific owners. :D
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

My 3 favorite things from St. John Spice are:

1: Kiss of the Jumbie coffee
2: Key Lime Tea
3: Cruz Bay Grill Rub

While I am thinking about it, I am out of the coffee. May need to call St. John and order more!!!
