The Wierdest Thing....I didn't mean to bring back from STJ

Post by greyhoundmom »

Remember the trip report about the person who brought back a lizard in her luggage? Well, in June, 2008 we were having breakfast at Donkey Diner (one of many in our 2 weeks) and I was admiring some plants outside the front door on the edge of the patio. Some sort of succulant. I bent down to touch it and some tiny tips brushed off on my hand, I brushed my hand on my bathing suit cover and when I came home to launder, checked the pockets and had a few brown tips. Well, ever the optomist (I'm a huge plant geek), I put them in soil and they sprouted. Now it's about 6 inches high, sprouting tiny tips from the top, falling into the dirt and sprouting again! Any idea what this strange succulant is?? I know, I know, it's the little things that make me happy...something I've nursed since last June and it's growing!

Could be, but it's tall and thin. Seems to be a profilic growth in the dry soil. Don't know, just thought one of the STJ guys might know what it is!

Too wierd...at least it's not Kudzu or even worse...a nutria

You have to post some pics when it's grown.

My one and only experience with nutria was NOT enjoyable. I could not imagine bringing one of those home by accident!

Good luck with the growing plant!

And when you were asked at customs whether you were bringing any plants, fruits or vegetables back with you your answer was probably "no." Now look at what's happened!
