Rik van Rensselear has died

I still get email from the Antilles School on St. Thomas - my girls went there for a couple of years. This came through today:

Rik van Rensselear, PTA president and father of Skye and William, and grandfather of Penelope and John Carpenter, lost his long battle with cancer early Saturday morning. Tuesday is Skye's 16th birthday.</blockquote>
I knew Rik (though not well) through work on various hotel association committees and such. He was always trying to do something positive it seemed. He will be missed by many.
