Trip Report from the SS. Scatterbrained Soon Come!
Trip Report from the SS. Scatterbrained Soon Come!
Greetings one and ALL!!
Well it could only happen to me -- an eight day adventure turning into a nearly two week absence!
Sorry to have been so absent since my return but I arrived home at 1 am on Thursday only to spend the next two days worshipping the porcelain god (a very special thank you to Chili's Too in Concourse A at ATL for this added magic to my life). Danger Danger people! Avoid the chicken tenders at all costs.
Add to that the DC Snowpocalypse of 2009 and you have a recipe for staying in bed and recuperating.
I have to say that even several days later the ground is still moving beneath my feet (a feature that was the cherry on top of my already challenging re-entry!)
Anyhoo... I am FINALLY back at the office and after having sifted through my roughly 1,436,287 e-mails I can now turn my creative attentions to a trip report.
Sadly my report will be photo-challenged (I have a few but not many). There are three reasons for this:
1) I was too intoxicated to take pictures
2) I was too lazy to take pictures
3) I had the Vickirazzi taking pictures of everything with that newfangled camera of hers and my polaroid with the detachable flash strips just didn't measure up.
Before the trip I actually went out and grabbed a Composition book from the Pueblo, so as to ensure that I could remember all the gory details of this motley crew and our near distasters... ahem.... I mean, amazing adventures!
I may consider opening up an auction for the tome to finance my 2011 campaign. So that some lucky soul can get the unabridged version of events --since some things are not for public consumption (this is after all a family show!)
Highlights of my version of events will include:
-I get to sleep where?
-I have to fit all my stuff where?
-Seriously?
-Who knew that three grocery carts of food and booze would ACTUALLY fit on a 45" boat?
-Green is not a color. It's a state of being.
-Vicki Coffee -- you have to taste it to believe it.
-Why rain is not your friend on a boat but baby wipes are.
-Adventures in mixology - there really is such a thing as "too much" also known as the 'Pink Painkiller.'
-The Bitter End with a hunk of Saba Rock.
-Searching for a blue hat in the middle of a blue ocean and other medical disasters.
-Review of the best lobster joint on Jost.
-Bruises as a fashion accessory.
-Customs, a chicken hat and land: a lethal combination.
-Glass of rum with a splash of coke.
-Four turtles, one day.
-Why Forum people (and Pia in particular) are some of the best people on earth.
Long rambling and (hopefully) amusing Trip Report soon come!
Cheers!
