I don't know why but this reminds me of a story from our last trip. We were in the Gallows portion of our trip and I was ready to just relax and read by the pool. Husband wanted to go over to the Tap Room. Works for me! Told him I would be at the pool when he returned. So when he came back he told me the place was pretty empty so he was chatting with the bar keep when 2 couples entered.54b wrote:I'd also differentiate between "cash" and "hidden beer money"
Upon entry one of the woman exclaimed "THIS IS A BEER PLACE!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL AM I GOING TO DRINK".
Oh joy .. turns out the 2 men were in to home brewing and were trying to talk to the bar tender about the different beers and such but the women were not happy so they chugged down one beer and left.
Please add this to the list of things I do not understand in life. You are on vacation .. please chill out!

Here's what I'm bringing on my next trip to STJ...
- A sense of adventure
- A thesaurus in case I run out of descriptors for all the breathtaking views
- An extra liver
- Some bail money
- Gold Bond Powder (trust me, don't ask)
- Kama Sutra (PG version illustrated with cartoon Iguanas and Mongooses)
- My wife (preferably the one who is patient and forgiving)
- A Lie Detector, so I can identify a Lion Fish (still funny, no)
- My best manners - "Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!"
- Key Chain bottle opener that plays theme song from Fantasy Island
- My white Rash Guard sponsored by Butterball Turkeys
- Some Fuzzy Dice for my jeep rental that I'll sprinkle with STJ Spice Grill Rub so it doubles as an air-freshener
- An Anticoagulant to take right before gorging at Vie's
- An hour glass to put on the table at restaurants (the locals will love it)
- And a green M&M

It’s not about yesterday or tomorrow...It’s about today, for come what may – Sun, rain, or hurricane – we've only time for a smile, and none for sorrow
