What would you bring?

Post by Xislandgirl »

I am heading to NJ this weekend for a get together with 8 women from another forum I am on. The party will be at the home of one of the women. 3 have met but the rest of us have not met anyone in person.

I was asked to bring wine. The local girls are cooking.

I am staying at a hotel, but I think that I should bring the hostess a little something.

So, if you were invited to a party at the home of a forumite, would you bring a hostess gift and, if so, what would you bring?

Yes, I would take a hostess gift.

Depending on how well you know her, these are some possibilities.

* Bestselling book related to her interests
* A fresh flower arrangement in a vase
* Houseplant in a simple yet decorative pot
* Gift basket of seasonal fresh fruits
* Bottle of wine or liquor
* Box of good chocolates

Have a terrific time with your special friends.

Is there something that would relate to the topic of the other forum? If nothing comes to mind based on that forum topic, I'd go with a bouquet of fresh flowers (and imho no vase required; it's the thought that counts). Have fun! Ali~

I vote for either wine or flowers (in a vase so the hostess doesn't need to stop what she is doing to arrange the flowers)

I often take a really nice candle when I need a hostess gift.

This girl I used to work with always used to give people a gift bag with little soaps for their bathroom. People always seemed to appreciate them.

How about something special and decadent, something she may not buy for herself, like a box of Godiva truffles?

I decided on nice guest towels with matching cocktail napkins (paper) and I am bringing peanut butter frosted brownies on a small white cake stand that I am leaving behind.
