First time to STT and we will have one day to go shopping once we reach Best Western Emerald Beach Resort. What is the closest and/or best area to go shopping at. Not wanting anything special to buy. We will have to take a taxi but we want to take our 11 yr. old grandson shopping and not sure where to go. All suggestions would be appreciated.

Downtown Charlotte Amalie would be a good place for you - close by taxi and many interesting stores - make sure you get to the Pirate store right on the Waterfront just West of the tent city market - a lot of the stores do have childrens size clothing and hats - at that age one of my prized possessions was a pair of nice binoculars - there is plenty to see and it is a walking town.
