Gifts for the locals?
Gifts for the locals?
Do any of you regularly take things with you that you intend to give as a gift to someone on-island that helps make your visit special?
If so, what kinds of thing?
In the past we've taken t-shirts or sports jerseys from places/teams at home - things that may not be available and/or expensive/hard to get down there.

The last time this topic came up, we came up with Dunkin Donuts. I guess Krispy Kremes would work also. I've never had those, but I already know I love Dunkin Donuts. Eyes light up around here when you mention Dunkin Donuts, so that would be a nice treat for a lot of locals. It's easy too, since you can get them at most airports.

DON'T BRING DUNKIN DONUTS FOR US, THOUGH!!!
We have a new thing going with a local baker who brings us baked goods twice a week. We get a lot of requests for snackie things, since we're now one of the last stops before the airport. The problem is, I think we're actually consuming a larger portion of the goodies than we're selling.
I am closely monitoring the situation to make sure it's not out of hand, but if all of my forum friends start bringing me Dunkin Donuts I will be in Very Serious Trouble.
I would normally share the donuts with our staff, but at the moment, we barely have any staff. (Ask VaGirl. She and Lisa broke our hearts when they got on that ferry Sunday. Also, be forewarned, if you stop in, Ron will try to hire you.)
So what I am saying is that Dunkin Donuts might be a good idea for other local people, not people like us who are already consuming way more baked delicacies than we should.
Off topic here: I knew the man who was the founder of Dunkin Donuts. He was very nice man and he started out in Brooklyn, New York with a dream and worked very, very hard. He was very kind to my family and very kind to me. So support Dunkin Donuts, but don't bring them to me or I'll have to buy a new wardrobe.
I really hope my point is clear here.
NO DONUTS!
See you on St. John
