Carry-On/Baggage ?

Post by Jumper »

I booked our flights for our trip next year and our departure flight from St Thomas is at 4.40 pm, we have to be out of the villa around 9.45am and turn in our rental car at 10.00 on St. John. We will only have carry-on bags, and we would like to secure them somewhere
so we can burn some time up either on St. John or St Thomas.
I really don`t want to sit around St. Thomas airport for 5 hours or have to carry our bags around.
I looked at booking an earlier flight but it is several hundred dollars more.
Thanks for any advice?

Wee took a ferry to Charlotte Amalie, found a taxi at the ferry dock and had the driver hold our bags in his cab. We made arrangements for a meeting time & place and went off to have a nice lunch at Gladys' and then do a little shopping. Met up with the driver at the appointed time & place and he delivered us to the ariport. Gave him a nice tip. Worked great.

The rental car company we used on STJ held our carry-on bags for us so we could do some last minute shopping and cocktailing before the walk of woe. You might want to ask them.
I've also heard that you can leave your bags at Connections for a small fee.
Have a great trip! :D

I have heard (but not used) that the VI Welcome Center in Charlotte Amalie near the ferry dock, food, and shopping, will securely hold baggage for a small fee.

I've used Connections a few times; it was ~$3 per bag. You can also print (for small fee) your boarding passes there.

Connections sounds perfect, I would rather spend my extra time on St.John.
Thanks a bunch for that info.!

We too have used Connections more than once and it is super convenient for the ferry. We usually save our souvenir shopping for that last day and then have a nice lunch in Mongoose Junction (the last three trips we've stayed on the Coral Bay side of the island exclusively).

We rented from Courtesy Car Rental in June and had the same situation and they let us keep our luggage at their office while we walked around town and had lunch. When we went back for it, they took us down to the dock so we didn't have to carry it down.
