My thoughts go out to Boston and all the families who were affected by this.

Becky and family are safe also.

Once again, we are all connected by sharing the pain and sadness of senseless loss.

This is a school vacation week for Mass plus Monday was a state holiday. Thats why all the kids were at the race. Today traffic is crazy around the area. We had two co-workers running the race (both are okay). Cell phone service was turned off so it was hard to contact anyone.

Walking to work this morning was weird. The whole area is still cordoned off, I had to detour three blocks to be able to cross over to Commonwealth Avenue. I walked by a restuarant that still had food and drinks on the patio tables.

Glad you Beantown forumites are OK - Boston is a tough resilient town. At least it will cleaned up and it will "look" back to normal soon. Only in the past year or two did I miss seeing the twin towers and NOT think of 9/11 when viewing the NYC skyline from the Jersey side. Not fun to be reminded that often, but it keeps you on your toes when you are heading into the city. Speaking of which, more of the "if you see something, say something" public service ads running on local TV here today.

Although we almost daily hear about terrorism, I will never be able to comprehend
that someone can be so consumed by a belief or a religion that they are willing to kill innocent people for it.

I feel for all the people, who is hit and hope that the guilty will be found very soon

one of our German suppliers was visiting us last friday and had a flight out of Boston that afternoon. Her broken English sums up Boston last Friday

For us it was good leave somehow early, as we were somehow scared about how to come to the airport and about additional security measures taking a lot of time. But finally we were able to just drive on somehow empty streets straight to the airport making sure that we are really in time. Finally everything went well.

Here are some pictures from my walk into work this morning. Bolyston Street (still closed, supposedly opening up later this week):
