My guess is the ferries will stay docked until April 1 to ensure they are ready for the mega forum April 1 party. Would hate to have them do actual work like hauling passengers to and from St. Thomas and become unavailable for the epic April 1 party!

Just a few minutes ago I checked the Spice Cam and only saw one of the new ferry's and it was beyond the security gate - maybe both ferry's are in use?
