Fascinated to read this article in the Vineyard Gazette (Martha's Vineyard, MA)- these look exactly like what I saw during my St. John trip in May. Assuming they are the same thing, and makes sense considering that they congregate where there is plankton to be eaten (in the case of St. John, the stinging plankton I presume?)
