Sunset Ridge Villas St John
Sunset Ridge Villas St John
Has anyone stayed at Sunset Ridge Villas? If so, is a four wheel drive vehicle needed? We have a small rental car reserved on St Thomas and were thinking of taking the ferry. The views look spectacular.

We own a week at Sunset Ridge and went in June of this year for the first time. The views are great, particularly from the pool area.
I would recommend a four wheel drive as the road up there is quite steep. There is a back way which is a bit tough to find on the way in (at least the first time) which is not as steep, but unpaved and quite rough.
You'll have a great time!

Jacobs Ladder, the road on which one must travel to reach Sunset Ridge Villas, is notoriously one of the most difficult in St. John to drive on. In some spots only one car can pass so it requires either driving off the road into the bushes or reversing to allow the oncoming car to get by.
I've stayed at Sunset Ridge a number of times and 4-wheel drive is a MUST if the roads are wet.
