Use of generators

Post by Rhumboogie »

Does STJ have any real rules concerning the use of generators outside of a storm situation? If not what are the common courtesy times of day one can be operated? Thanks for any input.

We start them up once a month to make sure they work, let them run about 1/2 hour during the day. It's just common courtesy, if you have close neighbors, (unless you have a very quiet Honda) not to run them longer. If the power's out, that's different - need to keep the water pumps & fridges working. I do not believe there are any official rules (but would not be surprised to learn otherwise).
