How is it that the cheaper point-n-shoot Powershots have the pano setting and the 400D doesnt? That's a surprising choice by Canon...

Very nice work. We love the stitch function on the Canons. We took some in France (got back last night), can’t wait to download those pictures and see what we got.

JMQ: Yeah, weird, huh? Maybe I'm just missing it somewhere, but I've been all through my little booklet and punched every button on my camera and nada! In addition, there is no real "underwater" case made for this camera. I had to go with the "all weather" case, which is waterproof, but only to 10 ft. (Like I'll ever get any deeper than that!), but I still feel a little cheated. Also, if you use the underwater setting on my camera, the raw data pix don't look any different than if you used a regular setting, but you can't use Auto Levels in Photoshop to fix them if you've used the underwater setting in the beginning. So from now on, I'll shoot at the regular setting and use "one click" on the auto levels to get them to look right.

Bob & Anita! Glad to see you're back! How was France?? Will I have to go to some French travel forum to see your pictures? LOL!

We had an absolutely fantastic time on our France trip - 3 romantic days by ourselves in St Tropez staying at an incredible place and then last 4 days seeing our oldest son play at 3 different jazz venues with his high school jazz band. The band, after playing at 6 venues in 3 countries, was playing like a seasoned professional jazz band - no one could believe that they were just high school students. To see the response from the audiences was such an indescribable experience for us. The other parents on the tour were all very fun to be with as well, made for trip of a lifetime.

We’ll post the pics on our pbase.com site once we’ve had a chance to sort them out, as well as the rest of our STJ pics.

Cocoloba - 10886 x 2231 (7.20MB)
Coral Bay - 5339 x 1660 (4.38MB)
Waterlemon - 5927 x 1681 (6.17MB)
Cruz Bay - 8064 x 2173 (10.2MB)
Trunk Bay (which I re-did and it's better now) - 5208 x 1580 (5.32MB)

However, if you want me to burn them to a CD for you I'd be happy to do so. :)

Rick, if you know a way other than this, please let me know! :D [/color]
I was researching on another task and came across the free http://www.bigupload.com/. They let you upload a file and send, via email notification, to others. It looks legitimate and gets good reviews.

Cheers, Rick

I have that Photo stitch program, I like it... but I NEVER got my stitched together pics to look that good. You weren't kidding when you said you spent some time on them, good job too cause they look flawless!
Keep us updated if/when we can download those with Ricks suggestion on that site, that would be peachy :)

Thanks Coden! That's the thing about panoramas... they look like what you see with your eyes! If I could manage it, I'd take every picture that way! 8)

Hey Rick! I checked out Bigupload.com and I don't think I'll put my pictures there. I read all the FAQ's and it sounded good. Then I started clicking on the tabs and got to "videos" and found out it's mostly porn. I wish I could list the "most searched" words here, but I'm afraid it would get me banned from the forum, or my post might be automatically deleted or something.

So the funny part is, I'm reading off all these words across the top and down the side outloud to my Rick and when I finished the list, he adds "... and Margo's vacation pictures." I just about died laughing! It's so true. My pictures really don't fit in there. But thanks for the thought... if you find anything else like that, only not so risque, be sure to let me know! :D

Nascarfan.. We bought the Olympus 770 while we were there in June...We love it...most of the underwater pics we have are taken with it, Only the Sandy Spit ones are taken with one of the disposable cameras. I hope you enjoy yours as much as we've enjoyed this one..even here at home with the kids in the pool as well as out...we are very pleased with it. Its much easier to carry than the Canon Rebel and we dont have to worry about it getting wet or bumped....:)

Hi All! Tonight I reduced the size of the Cruz Bay Panorama a bit (it's still HUGE though) and got the file size down to 8.75MB. I am on a cable modem and can send and receive e-mail attachments up to 10MB. Anyone who can receive attachments the size of these pictures can PM me with your e-mail address and I will happily e-mail you any or all of the photos above in their original size. Cruz bay is now 6000 x 1617( and I added Trunk Bay tonight). :D
