A suggestion for wood carvings?

Post by mbw1024 »

Question for any locals or someone who is familiar with the shops on island. I'm looking for a wood carving, preferrably done by a local artisan, for a blank wall I have staring at me in my new family room.

Any ideas of a place to look for such a thing?

At lease Jorge didn’t say it was a self-portrait – or is it. There could be a resemblance there (somewhere). Just kidding with you buddy.

You may want to check out the art galleries in Mongoose Junction. I 'think' I remember seeing some wood stuff there, but I can't swear by it. You can see all the Mongoose Junction shops with links to their sites here:

Sorry I can't recall what month, but I recall Caribbean Travel & Life running a story on a family of STJ native artisans, and one of the brothers was a wood carver, of native woods. If I recall, his sister has a doll shop.... should be somewhere between January and August, if I recall, anyone have back issues and ability to check, or alternatively, anyone on island know who this may be?
