Yes, it's in Mongoose Junction, at the end by Hurricane Alley. Looked like it was going to be nice even when we saw it under construction this past July. Hope someone will post menu items and prices.

Ahh there you go then, I don't have Quicktime installed. I can wait 40 some odd days to see it in person

Ocean Grille?

Post by Joe Jackson »

The ghosts of some great old St. Johnians are still in there. That's Henry's old Mongoose bar. I can still remember FONDLY when Carlos DiBlasi (re: Morgan's)usta bartend there back in the late 80's. Every day at four for cocktails with Redbeard, Caas DeGraaf, Bob Eaton, Bob Farmer (has he showered yet?), Martini George, Victor Hahn, so many wonderful characters and great memories...

See you all in January!!!

Joe, those are some names from the past. I have a few stories that I would rather not remember from that bar!

had dinner at Ocean Grill saturday night. What an atmosphere, it was absolutely wonderful. They are getting a canopy for over the main dining area to keep out the rain, but on island time.....its not there yet. We did have some rain, but the staff was great at clearing our table and moving us in about 30 seconds. It just added to the fun.
Dinner for 4 ran about $200, thats with 1 bottle of wine, and appetizers.
Most of the appetizer prices were about $10-14, dinner $24-30, with a few (surf and turf) running up to $48. Presentation was beautiful, portion size was good, just right. The owner was very visible, visiting with the tables, seeing how everything was, service was great.
It was a great treat for our last night on the island.

Thanks for the review, Sunshine! I've been very curious about this place. We're anxious to go there on our trip this winter.
