I just hate the liquid rules on the flights, as they makes it really hard to bring bottles home. Unless you send it in the checked luggage. So far, I haven't dared to take the risk to get it destroyed.

When we went back from the islands in May, I asked in New York, if it was OK to bring duty free bottles through Heathrow if we shouldn't change terminal, and that was fine they said. Sceptical, we didn't buy any, and in Heathrow they took all the liquid from the passengers Then I was glad we didn't buy any.

I put a couple of sheets of bubble wrap in the bottom of my suit case to wrap the bottles that are going in it on the way home.

Tom, that's a good idea, bubble wrap. I have a few months figuring out something that will be safe for at least one bottle.

Karin, I bring bottles back from Europe all of the time with no problem. I wrap it in clothing in the suitcase and it works fine. When we are bringing lots back we do bring bubble wrap and tape, but that is really overkill.

I enjoy Cruzan Mango rum with Cruzan Coconut Rum, and orange pinapple juice. Also known as Cruzan confussions. They are so good.

I like Crystal Light Iced Tea with Cruzan Mango rum.

Does anyone have a recipe that makes a pitcher of rum punch?

For Rum punch I mix:
Cranberry
Pineapple
Orange
lots of rum

Just tried a great version of rum punch from "At Blanchard's Table" cookbook. slightly different, less sweet, but really good.

Equal parts:

guava juice
pineapple juice
orange juice
dark rum -recipe called for Mt Gay rum but I used Cruzan dark and added a bit more then called for-
splash of lime juice
some grenadine for color

Easy to make a few glasses or a pitcher. Excellent taste.

Yum - that was our drink of choice at Mystic Ridge. There was always a pitcher in the fridge. With the fruit juice it's also a good breakfast drink!

I made a cocktail for John last night. He had a stressful day at work and was in a crabby mood so I put it in my special St. John crab glass that I bought from Ruth.

4 ounces lillet blanc
juice of 1/2 lime
handful of raspberries
soda water and ice to the top of the glass

kind of like a raspberry lime rickey, but with lillet instead of gin.
